How did you do???
Q1: In which city in Germany is the “Future Food” exhibition?
Answer (b), Dresden. Dortmund and Düsseldorf are both in the very west of Germany, near Holland. Dresden is in Saxony, in the east, near Czechia and Poland. It’s also famous for its beautiful museums and palaces.
Q2: How many trees do people want to plant by 2050?
Answer (c), a trillion. Amazing but true! There were once 6 trillion (6 million million) trees on planet Earth, but today there are only 3 trillion. People cut down trees to get wood or to make open spaces for farms. But we need trees to clean our air of carbon dioxide (otherwise we’ll get more global warming) and animals and plants need forests to live in. Wildlife charities want to restore and protect 1 trillion trees over the next 30 years.
Q3: Which of these is a tasty alternative to meat?
Answer (a), crickets. Check out our story on farming crickets and all sorts of other alternatives to meat. We get protein from eating animals. But farm animals give off a lot of greenhouse gas that contributes to global warming.
Q4: The big urban farm in Paris has…
Answer (c), a restaurant. Hey, it’s in Paris. What else would there be but a great place to eat in a city famous for its cuisine! Tractor rides would probably not be very practical – remember the urban farm sits on the roof of an exhibition centre, so it’s probably best not to put too many heavy things on it. And although it’s big, it’s not big enough for a golf course!
