Eat smart, cook clever – and let’s cut down on food waste!

When you think about what’s causing global warming, maybe you think of big, noisy cars, or of factory chimneys spewing smoke. But one of the biggest causes is sitting right on your dinner table. Wasted food causes up to a tenth of the greenhouse gas emissions that are changing Earth’s climate. The good news is, we can all help fix that.

Problem?

Farms and feeding people cause up to 30% of global warming – through cutting down trees, burping animals, moving food in trucks and so on. But a third of all food produced is wasted. We can eat well and help the planet by cutting out food waste.

Solution!

Lucie Basch invented the app Too Good To Go. It helps shops sell off food cheaply just before they would have to bin it. Too Good To Go’s boss in France, Sarah Chouraqui, has 9 top tips for WoW! readers to cut waste at home and at school.
