We have problems with global warming caused by machines. So people are waking up to how we used to get along without the coal and oil.
Take a look now at the clothes you’re wearing or the phone or computer that you’re reading WoW! on. Where do you think they were made?
A lot of what we use comes from far away in ships. And the engines on ships are mostly burning oil that is adding to CO2 in the air.
Some people have gone back to the old days and are carrying goods on sailing ships, that need only the wind.
In September, a 100-year-old Dutch schooner sailed into the English port of Bristol carrying wine from Portugal, the first wind-powered cargo to arrive there for over 40 years.
It was tiny compared to huge modern ships. So sail will probably not change our habits soon.
But these experiments show how people are thinking of ways to solve the problems we share.
