Three cheers for our ocean! Solutions for healthy seas

We’re celebrating World Ocean Day with a triple-whammy of promising solutions which help clean up the sea – and help us and our planet breathe more easily too.

Problem?

Human beings have done a lot of damage to the health of Planet Earth by messing up the ocean. Problems include throwing away plastic that harms wildlife in the sea and ships and fishing boats that damage the natural underwater plants around our coasts.

Solution!

Scientists but also ordinary people like the schoolboy Boyan Slat are coming up with more and more ideas for how to fix problems, including ways to clean plastic waste out of the ocean and to replant sea grass to restore healthy underwater communities – and fight climate change.
